Most likely made for use in the 1st class dining room on board White Star Line's last of the 'Big Four', RMS Adriatic, this demitasse saucer is dated 4/1907.
This rare, original White Star Line "Wisteria" pattern porcelain demitasse (coffee) saucer was also used on board both Olympic & Titanic. Examples have been recovered from the debris field of Titanic's wrecksite.
The saucer bears the White Star Line 'Scroll & Burgee' logo in the centre, within the brown and turquoise "Wisteria" pattern border and is marked to underside with registration numbers 117214 and 324028. RMS Adriatic was at the time, the largest ship in the world.
Diameter: 4 1/4 in. (saucer)
Apart from general wear commensurate with its age, the saucer is in excellent condition, so this is a very rare opportunity to acquire one of these highly collectible pieces at a very reasonable price!
