This is an extremely rare 1911 White Star Line, 9 inch dinner plate with gilt and large cobalt blue banded decoration and the OSNC (Oceanic Steam Navigation Company) logo.
Believed to have been used exclusively at the Captain's Table in the 'a la carte' restaurant on board Olympic & Titanic, only a handful of these magnificent plates have survived the passage of time and are highly prized by maritime collectors.
Pattern number R3717, made by Copeland Spode and referred to as the 'Sutherland' pattern. Supplied by Stonier & Co of Liverpool and stamped White Star Line on base.
The plate is in fine condition and the gilding and blue ground are still very crisp, as is the logo.
A very rare opportunity to acquire one of the most sought-after pieces of WSL china and a guaranteed investment.
