Thomas Andrews’ Honeymoon Theatre Brochure
On 24th June 1908, Harland & Wolff managing director and chief designer, Thomas Andrews, married Helen Reilly Barbour, daughter of textile industrialist John Doherty Barbour.
Of course, Thomas Andrews is renowned for his design work on Olympic & Titanic and tragically, he lost his life in the sinking of the ill-fated ship on 15th April 1912, at the age of just 39.
The newly-weds travelled to Switzerland for their honeymoon, staying in the stunningly beautiful lakeside town of Lucerne and on 9thJuly, they attended the Kursaal Theatre and this is the actual concert programme that they kept as a souvenir.
I acquired this incredible piece of ephemera at auction, as part of their wedding archive which came from direct descent from the family.
This very emotive programme is offered here for the first time and is a guaranteed investment opportunity that would take pride of place in ANY Titanic collection!
