From the 81st Anniversary of the sinking of RMS Titanic, this 1st Day Postcard features a colour image by Michael Farrier, of the ill-fated liner and most importantly, is signed by one of the survivors; Beatrice Irene Sandström.
Born in San Francisco on 9th August 1910, 20 month old Beatrice was travelling with her father Hjalmar, mother Agnes and sister Margit Sandström, boarding as 3rd class passengers. They were fortune to all be placed in Lifeboat 13.
Beatrice died in Östergötland, Sweden, on September 3rd 1995 at the age of 85. At the time of her death, she was the tenth remaining survivor of the disaster.
Number 51 of only 100 printed, the postcard was franked in Southampton on 10th April 1993 and issued and also signed by Rambrandt's owner, the late Philip Croucher; a renowned philatelic dealer in Southampton.
A rare, valuable signature that will continue to increase in value, so a wonderful investment!
