This incredibly rare walnut satinwood panel is from RMS Olympic and is approx. 21.5" x 17.5" (the inlaid panel is 16" x 14") and is in excellent condition with a beautiful, polished grain. Believed to be from stateroom C62, this was one of the panels fitted into the Marquis of Granby Hotel in Derbyshire, England, after the Olympic was scrapped in 1936. A dispersal sale of her fixtures & fittings lasted 10 days.
The back is finished in a cream paint, but sadly, I can't make out the significance of the blue crayon markings which are most likely original.
Easily framed for display, here is a very rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of history that would take pride of place in any White Star Line collection.
