An original swimming pool floor tile from RMS Olympic.
Like almost every other part of the ship, RMS Olympic was stripped out at Jarrow, on the River Tyne in 1935 and a 10-day sale dispersal sale held afterwards. Even the tiles from the swimming pool were offered!
Over the past 20 years, we have seen these high-quality tiles, manufactured by Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach, Germany, for both Olympic & Titanic, appear on the market infrequently. We are fortunate to have been able to acquire the very last of these from the vendor, whose grandfather had them since 1935, so grab one whilst you can!!
In excellent condition, they sell for almost £1,000 these days, so get yourself a bargain and a 'sure-fire' appreciating asset!
Condition: Displays beautifully!
Front good with minor chips and wear to the front, but pattern generally complete. The back is excellent with makers' name legible
