This stunning and very rare 1st class, kidney-shaped, vegetable plate was made by Copeland Spode for the White Star Line and used on board RMS Olympic & Titanic in their a la carte restaurants. Beautifully decorated in Cobalt Blue with the 'Greek Key' pattern and rim, lavishly adorned in real gold leaf, along with the monogram of the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company in the centre. Made of fine bone china, this dinner service was extremely expensive to produce, exclusively for the 1st class passengers!
The reverse is stamped with the White Star Line name, 5 pointed star and manufacturer's name, pattern number (9608) and the supplier's details; Stonier & Co, Liverpool.
Showing very little signs of wear to the gold leaf or pattern, the plate is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
A superb example of this hard-to-find pattern and a guaranteed investment at this price. Don't miss this opportunity to add this beautiful artifact to YOUR collection!
