This incredibly rare 'Abstract of Log' card was printed for the completion of RMS Olympic's 5th eastbound voyage on 9th December 1911.
What makes this card special is that this was Olympic's first voyage since her collision with HMS Hawke, after departing Southampton on 20th September that year.
Capt. E.J. Smith was again at the helm, but he would soon be linked to a much more tragic event that would cost him, and 1,500 of his passengers & crew their lives; the sinking of RMS Titanic.
In excellent condition with just a couple of small foxing marks, the passenger who picked up this card at the end of the voyage wrote on it; "1st completed voyage after being rammed by HMS Hawke in the Solent on Sept. 20th 1911".
This is the one of the finest investment opportunities for White Star Line paper ephemera collectors!
