Items from RMS Laurentic are highly sought-after and extremely rare.

This silverplated tea strainer has a beautiful enamelled handle bearing the White Star Line's 5-pointed star logo and is in excellent condition. It was probably bought by a passenger from the on board gift store/barber's shop.

Built in 1908 and fitted with Triple Expansion engines, she was very much a test-bed for the Olympic-class liners that were soon to follow. Yard number 394, Laurentic struck 2 mines and sank off the north coast of Ireland in January 1917 with the loss of 354 lives. She was carrying about 43 tons of gold ingots at the time of her loss and 20 bars of gold are yet to be recovered!!
