This highly-decorative silver cruet holder was made for the Navy by Collis & Co. of Birmingham & London between 1851 and 1862 and hallmarked A1, is of the highest quality. Most likely, it once held salt, pepper, mustard, other condiments and maybe toothpick glass liners; no doubt long ago lost, but would look stunning as a table centre at breakfast holding boiled eggs!!
Bearing an engraved Navy Crescent and with beautifully decorative legs, 'lion's feet' and handle, this is an attractive, usable and historic artefact, all for a very realistic price!
