Thomas Andrews was managing director of Harland & Wolff and chief designer towards the end of the building of RMS Titanic, the ship that would claim his life on 15th April 1912.
Following the tragic death of her husband, Helen Andrews remarried in 1917, to another prominent member of the famous shipbuilding company, Henry Pierson Harland.
This stunning, silver drinks tray belonged to Helen & Henry and comes via direct descent. 15" in diameter, it is incredibly detailed and decorated with carved grape vines, leaves and grapes, signifying its purpose. The tray sits on three acanthus feet and is beautifully chased with a matching, decorative pattern in the centre bears the Harland family crest.
Condition is outstanding and I cannot begin to imagine how much something of this quality would cost today!!
This is a unique opportunity to own an important piece of history from one of the iconic characters, directly linked to the Titanic story.
