RMS TITANIC READING & WRITING ROOM CHAIR FABRIC
In over 30 years of collecting and dealing in maritime artifacts, this is the first time we have had the pleasure and opportunity to offer this incredibly rare fabric from RMS Titanic.
This original remnant of fabric is from one of the chairs in RMS Titanic's 1st class Reading & Writing Room designed in the late Georgian style of around 1770-1780. The chairs were manufactured by the ships' builders, Harland & Wolff, in Belfast, and covered in a floral pattern on a gold-coloured cloth. Materials were supplied by such prestigious companies as Brunschwig & Fils, in Paris.
Small, leftover remnants such as this were often taken home by craftsmen or upholsterers as souvenirs.
The fabric has been professionally double-mounted in matching colours and framed, using the highest museum quality non-reflective, UV protection glass and is ready to display.
This is an extremely rare opportunity to add this magnificent piece of history to your collection and is without doubt, an appreciating asset!
