From his personal collection, this Styrofoam cup was taken by Cunard’s Commodore Ron Warwick and pilot, Anatoly Sagalevich, when he dived to Titanic's wreck site on 28th July 2001 on board the Mir-1 submersible to officiate the only wedding to have been conducted on board Titanic. The water pressure at this depth is approx. 2.5 tons per sq. inch and has crushed the cup to a fraction of its original size.
Accompanied by an original photograph and a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Commodore Warwick, the cup was his invitation to the wedding of David Leibowitz & Kimberly Miller, who were in Mir-2, and are still together.
As Cunard’s most experienced and revered captain, Commodore Ron Warwick, like his father before him, commanded QE2 for many years, before taking Queen Mary II on her maiden voyage in 2004, before retiring.
An incredible, unique artefact and archive, from this infamous and somewhat controversial event!!
