When Captain Edward John Smith left home to take RMS Titanic on her maiden voyage, one of the many possessions he left behind was a personalised, white leather vellum (wallet), used for carrying letters and paperwork.
Following his tragic loss, along with almost 1,500 passengers and crew, his wife, Eleanor, cherished this vellum, storing her collection of 19th & early 20th century poetry booklets inside.
The vellum is now part of White Star Memories' exhibition archive, viewed by millions of visitors around the world.
We are proud and privileged to now offer Eleanor's poetry booklets for sale. There are only twelve available and any one of them would grace ANY White Star Line/Titanic collection...
