Description

Genuine/Original White Star Line Bouillon Saucer

From 1^st and 2^nd class, this saucer is from the deck service. Used for bouillon (Bovril) or hot chocolate, these saucers were made from brownstone china; a lesser quality than the usual bone china, so more durable in an effort to reduce breakages out on deck.

Although they bore no pattern, the saucer is finished in gold leaf around the rim to denote the upper class service.

Condition is everything and this saucer is in excellent condition and the company 'scroll & burgee' transfer original and complete in the centre. The gold leaf around the rim is also in great condition!
